Naupaka

The Hawaiian name naupaka kahakai means "naupaka of the seashore."

The pulpy fruits tolerate salt water and float on the ocean currents for dispersal to other islands, unlike the dark purple fruits of the other native naupaka species which are eaten and dispersed by birds.

Zihuatanejo, Mexico

Zihuatanejo (Spanish pronunciation: [siwataˈneho]) or Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, is the fourth-largest city in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Politically the city belongs to the municipality of Zihuatanejo de Azueta in the western part of Guerrero, but both are commonly referred to as Zihuatanejo. 

It is on the Pacific Coast, about 240 km (149 miles) northwest of Acapulco, and belongs to a section of the Mexican Pacific Coast known as the Costa Grande.  This town has been developed as a tourist attraction along with the modern tourist resort of Ixtapa, 5 km away.


However, Zihuatanejo keeps its traditional town feel. The town is located on a well-protected bay which is popular with private boat owners during the winter months.

Palace of Fine Arts

The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there.

One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is the only one still situated on its original site. It was rebuilt in 1965, and renovation of the lagoon, walkways, and a seismic retrofit were completed in early 2009.

It remains a popular attraction for tourists and locals, and is a favorite location for weddings and wedding party photographs for couples throughout the San Francisco Bay Area

Alcatraz Island

Alcatraz Island is an island located in the San Francisco Bay, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) offshore from San Francisco, California, United States.^[1] 

Often referred to as "The Rock", the small island served as a lighthouse, a military fortification, a military prison, and a Federal Bureau of Prisons federal prison until 1963.^[2] Later, in 1972, Alcatraz became a national recreation area and received landmarking designations in 1976 and 1986.

Today, the island is a historic site operated by the National Park Service as part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is open to tours. Visitors can reach the island by ferry ride from Pier 33, near Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. In 2008 the nation's first hybrid propulsion ferry started serving the island.^[3] Alcatraz has been featured in many movies, TV shows, cartoons, books, comics, and games.
